The Hundred is a new innovative format of cricket introduced by the inventors of the game that we all like. England Cricket Board brought in a new innovation to cricket to make the game progress fast.
The Hundred comes with a pack of new rules that makes it different from the other cricket format already in existence. There are such new rules involved in The Hundred that an ordinary cricket fan might not know or might not understand.
And one such rule we saw which made all the fans think for a moment whether it is cricket or football. The new competition has brought a white card rule to cricket. But what does actually the white card does ?
Why umpires use white card in The Hundred ?
You all should know by now that The Hundred allows a bowler to bowl 10 straight ball from one end, however, the form of cricket that we all know, after 6 balls is completed, it is counted as an over and the end changes.
But, even though a bowler is allowed to bowl 10 balls in row, teams can still change the bowler after 5 balls and bring him later. The white card comes into play here, when a bowler has bowled 5 balls, the umpires hold up a white card to signal that a over is complete, now if the team wants, they can change the bowler, or continue with him till 10 balls is complete.
