The Indian cricket team will play the rescheduled fifth Test against the England cricket team from July 1 onwards in Birmingham. The match could be a historic occasion for India because they have a 2-1 lead in the five-match series, and another win could lead to a memorable Test series win on English soil.

Virat Kohli will be the player to watch out for in that game. He has done well on English pitches in the past, and in the match against Leicestershire, he scored 67 runs off 98 deliveries in the second innings. Speaking on Extra Innings show ahead of India’s match against Ireland yesterday, former Indian player Virender Sehwag said:

“Do you remember when was the last time, Kohli scored a century? Even I don’t remember. He would definitely want that he scores big in this Edgbaston Test which is the series decider. I think his bad days are over. Ab lagta hai behtar din ayenge (I think now his better days will come) and they have already started.”

Will Virat Kohli captain India in the fifth rescheduled Test against England?

Rohit Sharma has tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the match against England. In case he fails to recover on time, the Indian team will need a new captain of this game. KL Rahul is also unavailable because of his injury issues.

Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant are the two new options India could try as Test captain, while they could also go back to Virat Kohli and give him a memorable captaincy farewell. It will be interesting to see who leads India against England.
