The second semifinal match of the 2022 Ranji Trophy season is underway right now in Bengaluru, where Mumbai is battling Uttar Pradesh. Mumbai scored 393 runs in the first innings and got the first innings lead by bowling out their opponents for just 180 runs. A first-innings lead is enough to secure a place in the final, so now the Mumbai team will look to score as many runs as possible in the second innings. Prithvi Shaw stole the show.
An outright win will boost the confidence of the team if they wish to play aggressively and qualify for the final. Prithvi Shaw seemed in that mood today as he smashed 64 runs off just 71 deliveries. Shaw opened the innings with Rajasthan Royals star Yashasvi Jaiswal.
The two openers had a partnership of 0 runs in the first innings as Gujarat Titans star Yash Dayal dismissed Prithvi for a duck in the first over of the innings. Shaw made up for that in the second innings by hitting 12 fours in his 71-ball 64. His opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal enjoyed the innings from the other end.
Interestingly, Jaiswal did not score a single run in the partnership of 66 runs, where extras contributed two runs. Saurabh Kumar dismissed Shaw caught out soon after he completed his half-century. Shaw provided an excellent start to Mumbai.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has now faced 50 balls, without opening his account. And the Mumbai dressing room applauds his effort, asking him to keep applying himself at the crease. Shaw is unperturbed at the other end #MUMvUP #RanjiTrophy @sportstarweb
