For the first time in many years, an Indian and a Pakistani player are representing the same team in cricket. Interestingly, both Pujara and Rizwan had a great partnership for Sussex. In a recent interview with Crick Wick, Rizwan shared his experience of playing with Pujara.

He said that he did not feel anything strange while batting with Pujara considering the rivalry that the Indian cricket team and the Pakistan cricket team have. Here’s what Rizwan said:

“As far as myself and Pujara are concerned, I didn’t feel anything strange (along the lines of India-Pakistan rivalry). And hopefully, if you ask him, his answer will be the same as mine. Although I do share a laugh with him and tease him (laughs) and everyone in the team knows this.”

Mohammad Rizwan says Cheteshwar Pujara is second on his list to learn concentration and focus

During the same interview, Mohammad Rizwan named the three batters whom he looks forward to for focus and concentration power. He named former Pakistan cricket team batter Younis Khan as the first one, current Indian cricket team team batter Cheteshwar Pujara the second one and current Pakistan cricket team batter Fawad Alam as the third one.

“Pujara is second on my list and Fawad Alam on three in terms of pure concentration and focus. I rate these three players very highly,” he added.

Both Pujara and Rizwan gained valuable experience of playing in English conditions. It will be interesting to see how they perform the next time when they tour England.
