Even though Chennai Super Kings’ batters were not in their best form this season, the team management kept Subhranshu Senapati on the benches throughout the season. It was surprising to see him not getting a place in the playing XI even though the last few matches of the Chennai-based franchise did not impact their final position on the points table.

Senapati may receive another contract from the Chennai Super Kings before IPL 2023 Auction and remain with the franchise for the next season. He might make his debut for the Chennai-based franchise in the upcoming IPL tournament.

The doctors told him that he would never be able to play the sport again. However, he underwent surgery and made a comeback to the sport. He is now a Chennai Super Kings player. Here’s what Senapati had to say during a chat with the franchise:

“I had surgery, and I couldn’t play cricket for a year. The doctors had told me ‘you can’t play cricket because of this injury’. Usually, everybody got kits and spikes during zonal camps. As I didn’t join the camp, I didn’t get the kits. And then, I received a pair of spikes from the camp. At that moment, I realized that I will get better and start playing again.”
