Former England cricket team captain Nasser Hussain showered massive praise on Bumrah after his match-winning spell. Hussain labeled Bumrah as the best all-format bowler across the planet right now. However, Bumrah downplayed the compliment and said after the match:

“I don’t think on the lines of I am very good in this particular format or how good I am and so on. I enjoy every format. Obviously, I respect people’s opinion, but I don’t take it seriously, whether it is good or bad. Very grateful for the applause that I get, but I always try to keep a stable head.”

Jasprit Bumrah also talked about the beauty of cricket

Earlier this month, the same English batters, namely Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root dominated the Indian cricket team’s bowling unit during their fifth match of the ICC World Test Championship. While Bairstow scored two centuries in two innings, Root scored a match-winning hundred in the fourth innings.

Both batters were up against the same opposition yesterday in the first ODI at the Kennington Oval, but they failed to make an impact. While Root got out for a duck, Bairstow failed to touch double digits after opening his account. Bumrah mentioned that it was the beauty of the sport.

The Indian fast bowler said that on one day, a bowler can get the outside edge on the first ball itself, while there are some days when he bowls 100 balls and there is not a single outside edge. The second ODI of this series will take place tomorrow.
