The Lord’s Test match between India and England got everyone’s attention because of the heat between the players of the two teams on the field, also involving Bumrah. Virat Kohli is known for his aggressive approach. Earlier, foreigners used to sledge India, and now the Indian cricket team has learned the way to hit back.

Recently, in the Lord’s Test match, Indian fast bowler Jasprit bowled short deliveries to tail-ender James Anderson. Speaking about that incident during his appearance on the Tailenders Podcast, James Anderson said that he felt Bumrah was not trying to take his wicket.

Anderson even mentioned how Bumrah bowled no-ball after no-ball and tried to attack him. Here’s the statement that Anderson made on the podcast:

“I got caught off guard a little bit because all the batters coming in were saying how slow the pitch was. Banged in short; it was really slow. When I came out to bat, Joe said Bumrah was not bowling as quick as he normally does. And then, the first ball was 90 miles an hour and on the money, wasn’t it? And it felt like, I haven’t felt like this ever in my career. I felt he wasn’t trying to get me out.”

James Anderson also recalled that only two deliveries bowled by Jasprit Bumrah to him would have hit the stumps. Generally, fast bowlers tend to attack the stumps of the tailenders. However, Bumrah had other plans. He increased his pace and tried to trouble Anderson.
