Rahul Tewatia has revealed that he has never gotten an opportunity to talk to MS Dhoni yet. Dhoni is reckoned by many as the world’s best finisher. Tewatia has also finished off a few matches in his short IPL career so far. The left-handed batter has won multiple last-over thrillers for his new team Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022.
Today, the Gujarat Titans are battling defending champions Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium. Ahead of the game between GT and CSK, Rahul Tewatia had a chat with the host broadcasters, where he was asked if he has learned any lessons from MS Dhoni.
It is a common sight now to see experienced Indian players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Dhoni sharing their knowledge with the younger cricketers in IPL. However, Tewatia has never got the chance to spend time with the Chennai Super Kings captain.
Here’s what Rahul Tewatia said about MS Dhoni at the brief interview:
“For a long time, I have been wanting to talk to him, but I have not been able to do that (smiles). I hope that I can have a chat with him today, and I can discuss my finishing skills and talk cricket with him.”

Tewatia is a popular player in the Indian Premier League now, but he has not spoken to Dhoni. The interviewer asked him if the dangerous finisher on the field is a shy person off the field. Tewatia replied:
“Yes, I am kind of a shy person. It takes me a little time before I mix up with everyone, but I hope I can talk to Mahi bhai today.”
It will be interesting to see if Tewatia can have a chat with Dhoni today. Both finishers are up against each other in IPL 2022 right now.
