Lucknow Super Giants all-rounder Marcus Stoinis revealed how he had a chat with Hardik Pandya and MS Dhoni during the IPL and got some tips that helped him improve as a finisher. Dhoni and Pandya are reckoned by many as two of the best batters in slog overs. They can turn the matches in a matter of moments.
Stoinis is a multi-dimensional player. He can win matches as an opener, as a finisher and as a bowler. However, he admitted that he has a lot to learn. Since he got a chance to interact with the top players at the IPL, he did not miss the chance of speaking with Dhoni and Hardik.
He went to MS Dhoni after the Qualifier 1 match between the Chennai Super Kings and the Delhi Capitals, where the Super Kings emerged victorious because of Dhoni’s heroics in the final overs. Here’s what Stoinis disclosed about his chat with Dhoni and Hardik.
“I spoke to multiple different players that bat in that role, whether it’s Hardik Pandya. I spoke to Dhoni a lot about it after one of our games where he actually beat Delhi nearly singlehandedly in one of the semi-finals. He spoke to me about the routine he goes through. How he sees the game, how he controls his breath, how he manages his emotions,” Stoinis said on RevSportz.
Marcus Stoinis will play for the Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2022
The Lucknow Super Giants signed Marcus Stoinis ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction as one of their three draft picks. Apart from Stoinis, they also went for KL Rahul and Ravi Bishnoi.
The Super Giants did an excellent job in forming their IPL 2022 squad at the mega auction. They seem one of the strongest squads this season and it should not be a surprise if they end up winning IPL 2022.
