Shivam Dube has expressed his excitement to play for the Chennai Super Kings in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. The Mumbai-based all-rounder previously represented the Rajasthan Royals and the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL.

CSK first went hard for Vijay Shankar, but they lost the bidding war to the Gujarat Titans. After that, they went for Shivam Dube and secured his services for INR 4 crore. Dube entered the mega auction with a base price of INR 50 lakh.

Four teams showed interest in Dube. Apart from the Chennai Super Kings, the Lucknow Super Giants, the Rajasthan Royals and the Punjab Kings also tried to acquire Dube’s services. “My dream to play under my hero, Dhoni will come true now. I’ve seen that those who play under him feel that they can perform better and feel secure about their spot in the team. I’m very excited. I will try to come back into the Indian team by doing well for CSK.”
