The IPL 2022 Mega Auction will start tomorrow. 10 franchises will participate in the mega auction. The organizers have prepared a list of 10 marquee players who will go under the hammer first. Harbhajan Singh is surprised that one of the star Indian players has not received a place in the Marquee Players list.

The Marquee Players list is the first lot of the auction pool. It often comprises the players who attract bids from maximum franchises. This year’s list consists of Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Kagiso Rabada, Shikhar Dhawan, Pat Cummins, Faf du Plessis, Quinton de Kock, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Shami and David Warner.

According to former IPL champion Harbhajan Singh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar should have received a spot in the marquee players list. Kumar is a former IPL Purple Cap winner. He has captained Sunrisers Hyderabad and also won the trophy with the team in 2016.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up six wickets for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2021

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been a part of three franchises in his Indian Premier League career. He started his journey with Royal Challengers Bangalore before moving to the Pune Warriors team. After Pune left the league, Kumar switched to the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

So far in his IPL career, Kumar has scalped 142 wickets in 132 matches. He has two four-wicket hauls and one five-wicket haul to his name. Many fans were surprised to see Sunrisers Hyderabad not retaining him ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. The Orange Army preferred uncapped right-arm pacer Umran Malik over Kumar. It seems the franchise did not want to take the risk because of Kumar’s recent injury issues.
