Quinton de Kock retires from Tests

As per the statement put out by QDK, he has stated that he wants to spend more time with his growing family and hence, has taken the decision to retire from red-ball cricket. However, he has confirmed that he will be fully committed to white-ball cricket for South Africa.

Quinton made his Test debut back in 2014. In the 54 games that he played, the wicket-keeper batsman scored 3279 runs at an average of 39.04. His last Test innings was against Team India at Centurion, a game which the Proteas lost. Missing the services of an experienced player like QDK will be a great loss for South African cricket. Especially with the transition phase taking too long, QDK will leave a hole in the Test team.
