Middle Order – Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja

After winning the 2024 T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli stepped down from the shortest format of the game. He scored a 63-ball-54 in the grand finale. He continues to play for India in the longer formats while also representing RCB.

Iyer couldn’t get the wheels rolling as he got out for four in the final. Since then he has struggled to get back to consistent form. He helped KKR to win the title in 2024 and apart from that he is a domestic regular. KL Rahul is a dynamic batter and continues to be in the plans of the Indian cricket team. He scored 66 from 107 balls in the final. He is now a part of the Indian Test squad for Border-Gavaskar Trophy while he will be a part of the upcoming mega-auction in IPL.

Jadeja did try and defy the odds but to no avail. He scored nine runs and conceded 43 runs from his 10 overs in the final. He has stepped down from T20Is and continues to represent India in the longer formats while also being a part of CSK in the IPL. Coming out to bat at number seven, Suryakumar Yadav did instill hopes in India. However, he could only garner 18 runs. He leads India in T20Is while also being a part of the Mumbai Indians in IPL.

Bowlers – Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah

Being touted as the biggest hope for Team India, Mohammed Shami bowled seven overs, took a maiden and claimed a wicket but that wasn’t enough for India. After the World Cup final, he took a break as he had to tend to his injuries on his ankle. He is all set to return to the international fold after being picked up for the domestic side.

Siraj had a bad day in office on the day of the final and since then he had continued to play for Team India across all formats. He was released by RCB ahead of the IPL auction and will be a part of the mega-auction. Kuldeep Yadav rediscovered himself ever since his return and despite being hammered in the finale, he continues to impress across all formats of the game for Team India and Delhi Capitals.

The ace Indian quick who terrorized the batters also left Australia reeling early. Sadly, India couldn’t get the better of the Aussies despite the early start. Bumrah continues to be a major force in the Indian ranks across all formats and Mumbai Indians as well.
