    India’s playing 11 will take the field once again to take on Pakistan today at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The Super 4s round match of Asia Cup 2023 started yesterday in Colombo. However, rain forced the match officials to halt the game when India were 147/2.

    The match will resume from the same position today. It is for the first time in two years that the India’s playing 11 will be in action on the reserve day. Here’s a look at the team from the previous match which went into reserve day, and where those players are now.

    Openers of India’s playing 11 – Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill

    Sharma and Gill opened the batting for India in their last match which went into the reserve day. It was the WTC Final against New Zealand in June 2021. Sharma has become India’s captain now, while Gill continues to be his opening partner.

    Middle Order of India’s playing 11 – Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant

    Kohli led the team, while Pant was the wicketkeeper. Pujara and Rahane supported them in middle-order. Kohli is currently a member of India’s team in all three formats. Pujara has been dropped from the Test team, whereas Rahane is the Test vice-captain. Pant had an accident last year and is recovering from injuries.

    All Rounders – Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja

    India played with two spin-bowling all-rounders in that match. Ravindra Jadeja is currently India’s all-format best all-rounder. Ravichandran Ashwin is the top all-rounder of India in Tests.

    Bowlers – Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah

    Shami and Bumrah formed India’s pace attack along with Ishant Sharma. Shami and Bumrah are active members of India in multiple formats. Sharma has been dropped from the Test squad, but he returned to IPL and performed well for Delhi Capitals this year.
