Openers for India in 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup: Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma
It will be a solid opening combination for Team India. As usual, the duo will shoulder the responsibility to have a good batting show for India. It will be a challenge for Smriti to do well against spin as the pitches in UAE could offer more assistance to the spinners.
Middle-Order: Harmanpreet Kaur (C), Jemimah Rodrigues and Richa Ghosh (WK)
Harmanpreet has been trusted as the skipper and it is high-time that she steps up. While she is capable of game-changing knocks, she must show more consistency. Jemimah offers solidity to this middle-order while Richa will be the finisher.
All-Rounders for India in 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup: Deepti Sharma, Radha Yadav and Pooja Vastrakar
India’s strength lies in this department. Deepti Sharma’s batting form is a blessing for the side. Radha Yadav and Pooja’s major responsibility will be with the ball. Pooja must look to offer more with her power-hitting.
Bowlers: Shreyanka Patil, RS Thakur and Asha Shobana
The RCB trio is likely to be the bowling attack for Team India. If Shreyanka is not fit, Sajana is sure to get a spot in the XI. Asha Shobana must bring in her domestic experience to do well in the UAE. Renuka will need to come up with a good display in the powerplay. Hence, it is key for her to do well in the UAE.
