The second ODI game between India and Australia had two contrasting innings. After winning the toss, Australia invited India to bat first, and the hosts responded in grand fashion. Though India lost Ruturaj Gaikwad (8) early, that was the only cheap wicket given to Australia.

Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer added a 200-run partnership for the second wicket in 27.1 overs. Both batters also reached their respective ton. Gill made 104 off 97 balls, with six fours and four sixes, while Iyer scored 105 off 90, including 11 fours and three sixes.

Both batters made full use of the batting conditions in Indore. Not only those two, but other Indian batters also played attacking cricket. KL Rahul made a 38-ball 52, and Ishan Kishan played a cameo of 31 off 18. However, SKY showed his T20I game.

He ended up scoring the fastest ODI fifty by an Indian against Australia off just 24 balls. Suryakumar made 72 not out from 37 balls, with six fours and six maximums. India recorded their highest ODI total against Australia and made 399/5 in 50 overs. It was a gigantic score to chase in the second inning.

In the second innings, Prasidh Krishna dismissed Matthew Short (9) and Steve Smith (0) on consecutive deliveries, and Australia got behind the game. The rain interrupted after the ninth over when Australia was at 56/2. After the rain break, they got a revised target of 317 runs in 33 overs. But the visitors were bundled out for 217 runs in 28.2 overs, losing by 99 runs.

Meanwhile, cricket fans enjoyed the batting feast by the Indians, but there were a few Pakistani fans that took to social media and tried to troll India for scoring runs on flat pitches and shorter boundaries. However, the former Indian all-rounder was up to respond and slammed the trolls.

He took to Twitter (now X) and questioned the trolls that the pitch offered the same to both teams, but India made 399 and Australia got all out for 217 runs. He tweeted, “So the pitch was flat and the ground was small only for one batting team???”

Well, this is not the first time that Irfan has given it back to trolls; he is always active on social media and does this. The win in the second game gave the hosts an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series, with the final game to be played on Wednesday.
