However, Neesham does not have a great record in the world’s best T20 league – the Indian Premier League. He has always struggled to perform well when playing for the IPL teams. So far in his career, he has been a part of Delhi Daredevils, Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals, but he is yet to deliver a memorable performance.

Jimmy Neesham has done well in the foreign T20 leagues as well as international cricket, which is why fans fail to understand why he struggles in IPL. When one of the fans recently asked him about his struggles, Neesham replied:

“I probably wouldn’t perform well in international cricket either if I played one game a year.”

Jimmy Neesham explained that he was not trolling any IPL franchise

Fans assumed that he took an indirect dig at one of his former IPL franchises or his current IPL team, Rajasthan Royals for not giving him enough chances to play. However, Neesham offered a clarification soon and wrote:

“Also… everyone trying to act like this tweet is bodying someone or trolling someone. It’s just sometimes the situation doesn’t allow it and players just have to try to make do. Its nobody’s fault.”

Neesham was a part of the Rajasthan Royals squad which finished runners-up at this year’s IPL. It will be interesting to see if the Jaipur-based franchise retains him for the next edition of the league. Meanwhile, Neesham will be keen to bring his ‘A’ game to the table at the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup and help the New Zealand cricket team win the championship.
