Ravichandran Ashwin has announced retirement from all formats of international cricket. The all-rounder decided to quit international cricket in the middle of an intense Border-Gavaskar Trophy series between India and Australia.
Ashwin has decided to continue playing club cricket, but he will never be seen in the Indian jersey ever again. His last appearance in Tests and ODIs came against Australia. In the Test format, his last appearance was in a pink-ball game in Adelaide, while in ODIs, he last played for India in the 2023 World Cup group stage match in Chennai. His last T20I appearance was also at Adelaide Oval against England in the 2022 T20 World Cup semifinals.

1. Last wicket of Ravichandran Ashwin in Tests – Mitchell Marsh
Ashwin’s final wicket in international cricket was that of Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh. The Aussie all-rounder got out caught behind off Ashwin’s bowling in the pink-ball match while he was batting on nine runs. Rishabh Pant took the catch behind the stumps.
2. Last wicket of Ashwin in ODIs – Cameron Green
In ODIs also, Ashwin’s last wicket proved to be of an Australian all-rounder. In the 2023 World Cup match against Australia in Chennai, Ashwin got rid of Cameron Green caught out. Hardik Pandya took the catch when Green was on eight runs.
3. Last wicket of Ashwin in T20Is – Richard Ngarava
Ashwin could not take any wickets in his last T20I appearance for India, which came against England in the 2022 T20 World Cup semifinals.
