The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 has been heading into an exciting situation where every game is likely to be a must-win contest. Team India has been the only side that has yet to face a defeat. They have won six games on the trot.

India is almost through to the semi-finals. South Africa and Australia are also looking good to make it to the next round. However, there is a fight for the fourth spot between New Zealand and Pakistan. The Black Caps started the tournament with four consecutive wins but have now suffered three consecutive defeats.

South Africa thrashed them by 190 runs on Wednesday in Pune, which has dented their chances to qualify for the semis. This has given Pakistan outside chances to give it a shot at the semis. The game between Pakistan and New Zealand on Saturday will be crucial for both teams.

If Pakistan can win it by a large margin, then they can make it to the semis in fourth place. On the other hand, the way India is going, it looks like they will top the group stage and end at No. 1. As a result, India is likely to face the No. 4 ranked team, potentially Pakistan, in the semi-final to be played at Wankhede Stadium on November 15.

However, veteran left-arm Pakistani speedster Mohammad Amir recently made a big statement on a local TV channel, ARY News. Reacting to Irfan Pathan’s dance when Afghanistan beat Pakistan in Chennai, he said that he will dance if Pakistan beats India in the semi-finals.

Amir said, “If Pakistan faces India in this World Cup and beats them, I will dance the way @IrfanPathan danced after we lost to Afghanistan.” Notably, India thrashed Pakistan in their meeting in Ahmedabad by 7 wickets and almost 20 overs to spare. That loss dismantled Pakistan’s momentum, and they lost the next three games after that.

Though it is very tough for Pakistan to qualify from here on, anything can happen in cricket. And if these two teams meet in the semis, it will be another high-voltage clash between the two rivals. Then the world will see who will dance after a win.
