Pakistan opener Mohammad Rizwan is having a great time with the bat this year. In T20 cricket, he has been exceptionally good and has scored runs consistently. He is currently the No.1 ranked T20I batter in the world as per ICC points.

However, there is one more name who has been doing wonders in T20I cricket and it’s none other than Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav. Though he made his T20I debut just a year ago, he has already shown why he is rated highly in the shortest format. His ability to take on all the bowlers at any stage of the game makes him an exceptional talent.

Yadav is providing tough competition to the Pakistani opener for the ICC No.1 ranked T20I batter spot. He recently dethroned Rizwan from the top spot after an explosive innings in the second T20I against South Africa. However, Rizwan claimed his position back just three days later when Yadav failed to make any impact in the final match.

Rizwan, when asked about the competition with Yadav, said that he likes to watch him play but at the same time, the roles of both the batters are very different. On top of that, he never thinks of rankings as it brings negative energy into a person. The 30-year-old went on to say he just tries to fulfill what the team demands.

“Good player hain Suryakumar Yadav. Jis tarah se woh khelte hain, mujhe bohot pasand he. Magar jaha tak cheezen he and different tarike se dekha jae kyunki middle order and top order mukhtalif cheezen hain.

Kabhi No.1 ke liye socha nahi hain jo demand he Pakistan ki woh pura karne ki koshish kar raha hu. No.1 or Man of the Match, aise kuch cheeze hain jo negative main le jati hain. Par main sochta nehi hu,” he said.

“Ha kabhi pitches aisa milta hain ki 60 balls pe 40 karna padta he but wohi Pakistan ka demand tha. Pichle saal Bangladesh series main bhi wohi tha, UAE me chale jae toh 145 banana mushkil he,” he added.
