The 2nd Day’s play between Indian cricket team and the New Zealand cricket team in the 2nd Test match of the series has come to an end in Wankhede Stadium, and Team India sits at a pretty comfortable position.

The Indian cricket team ended their first inning on 325 runs with Mayank Agarwal scoring a brilliant 150 runs. But what was more spectacular was New Zealand spin bowler Ajaz Patel taking all the 10 wickets of the Indian team.

But, the Men in Blue, well in white, gave a befitting reply to the Blackcaps as India bundled out New Zealand for their lowest score of 62 runs. Mohammed Siraj showed his class with the ball during the 2nd inning of the match.

Siraj did a lot of homework to dismiss Tom Latham, and the Indian pacer explained how he did so during a chat show with Axar Patel for BCCI.tv.

Mohammed Siraj stated that he had observed Tom Latham’s play in Kanpur Test, which he didn’t play. He continued that no one bowled bouncer to Latham and he talked with captain Virat Kohli about the strategy and he agreed to place a fielder for the short ball.

He further added that Latham didn’t expect another bouncer after he bowled him the first bouncer and that’s where the plan was successful.

India vs New Zealand 2nd Test

The coin was in favour of Virat Kohli this time and India opted to bat first. Mayank Agarwal and Shubman Gill started well adding 50 runs, before Gill was dismissed by Ajaz Patel.

Patel went on to dismiss the entire Indian team, taking 10 wickets in an inning and becoming only the 3rd player to do so. However, New Zealand failed to capitalise on that as they got all-out for the lowest total ever for them, 62 runs. Ashwin picked 4 wickets, Siraj and Axar Patel got 3 and 2 wickets respectively.

The Indian team though didn’t follow on and Mayank Agarwal and Shubman Gill came out to bat. And at the end of Day 2’s play, India is currently leading 332 runs.
