New Zealand cricket team’s spin bowler Ajaz Patel has joined Anil Kumble and Jim Laker in the elite group of bowlers who have scalped all ten wickets in one innings of a Test match. Kumble was the last bowler to accomplish the feat, and the former Indian head coach welcomed the new entrant of the club with a special tweet.
The second match of the ICC World Test Championship series between the Indian cricket team and the New Zealand cricket team is currently happening at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Many fans would know by now that Mumbai is the home of Ajaz Patel, who now plays for the New Zealand cricket team.
The Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bat first in Mumbai. Mayank Agarwal and Shubman Gill had a fine partnership of 80 runs for the first wicket. Ajaz Patel broke the partnership by sending Gill back to the dressing room. He soon dismissed Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli for ducks to complete his three-wicket haul.
Patel took his fourth wicket on Day 1 only by picking up the wicket of Shreyas Iyer. He continued his good form on Day 2 and took Wriddhiman Saha and Ravichandran Ashwin’s wickets. Mayank Agarwal and Axar Patel stabilized the innings, but Ajaz dismissed both of them. He then completed a Perfect 10 by picking up the wickets of Jayant Yadav and Mohammad Siraj.

Soon after Ajaz Patel bagged his tenth wicket in the first innings, Anil Kumble tweeted the following message to him:
