The second match of the ICC World Test Championship series between the Indian cricket team and the New Zealand cricket team is currently underway at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The home team won the toss and decided to bat first. There was a rain delay before the match started on Day 1. Fans witnessed top-quality cricket on the first day, with Ajaz Patel impressing with the ball and Mayank Agarwal shining in the batting department.
Mayank Agarwal and Shubman Gill opened the innings for the Indian cricket team. They stitched up a wonderful partnership of 80 runs for the first wicket. Ajaz Patel broke the partnership by Gill. Cheteshwar Pujara walked out next. However, Patel rattled his stumps before he could open his account. Skipper Virat Kohli came into the middle after Pujara’s dismissal. But even Kohli lost his wicket for a duck.
India were down to 80/0 to 80/3 in a matter of a few minutes. It seemed like the New Zealand cricket team would bowl out the home side on Day 1 itself. However, a solid knock from Mayank Agarwal denied the New Zealand cricket team more joy. Agarwal completed his first Test hundred versus the Blackcaps and ensured that India crossed the 200-run mark on Day 1.

The second day’s action is currently happening in Mumbai. Ajaz Patel has continued to trouble the Indian cricket team. He has completed his seven-wicket haul. One of the seven wickets was Ravichandran Ashwin. The Indian all-rounder lost his stumps on the first ball. It seemed like Ashwin did not realize he was bowled. He asked for a review thinking that the umpire ruled him out for caught behind.
