Lucknow Super Giants fast bowler Avesh Khan dedicated his excellent performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad to his mother who is hospitalized right now. Not many fans knew about it before the match started. Khan bowled a brilliant spell, where he took four wickets and helped Lucknow beat Hyderabad.
Speaking with his teammate Deepak Hooda in a video on IPLT20.com, Avesh Khan disclosed that his mother was not well right now. She is in a hospital right now for treatment. Khan said that by God’s grace, she was feeling much better now.
The fast bowler turned the match in his team’s favor by taking two wickets in the 18th over of the second innings. Khan sent the dangerous Nicholas Pooran and Abdul Samad back to the dressing room. Before that, he dismissed both SRH openers – Kane Williamson and Abhishek Sharma.
Commenting after the match, Avesh told Deepak Hooda:
“I would like to dedicate this performance to my mother, who is currently hospitalized. I got a lot of support from there as well. As soon as the match finished, I called her up and interacted on video call. I asked her if she is okay. With God’s grace, she is fine. I want to dedicate this (performance) to my mother.“

After the four-wicket haul against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Avesh Khan is the number two bowler on the Purple Cap leaderboard. He has seven wickets to his name. Only Kolkata Knight Riders pacer Umesh Yadav is ahead of him.
Khan played a pivotal role in Delhi Capitals’ success last year. It will be interesting to see if he can help the Lucknow Super Giants finish at the top of the points table in IPL 2022. LSG will play their next match against DC in IPL 2022.
