Mohammed Shami, the star fast bowler of the Indian cricket team, has given his views on the much-talked about debate between who is the better batter – Virat Kohli or Babar Azam. Both are the top batters of the world right now. Kohli is number three on the all-time international centuries list with 70 hundreds, while Babar is just getting started.
Some fans think it is too early to compare Babar Azam with Virat Kohli because the former Indian cricket team captain has accomplished a lot in his career, whereas Azam is yet to reach his level. Even Mohammed Shami has the same opinion as he feels that it would be unfair on Babar to compare him with the likes of Kohli, Steve Smith and even England Test cricket team captain Joe Root.
In an interview with India.com, Mohammed Shami weighed in on the debate and said:
“No doubt Babar Azam is a great player. But to compare him with the likes of Steve Smith, Joe Root or Virat Kohli will be unfair on him. I would say let him play for that many years and then maybe we can judge.”
Shami wished luck to Babar and said that if he continues to play the way that he has, he will end up as one of the greats from Pakistan.

Mohammed Shami also commented on the performances of the Pakistan cricket team as he added:
“Pakistan have been playing very good cricket of late and the emergence of three-four players have really helped them a lot.”
The Pakistan cricket team will lock horns with the Indian cricket team in the T20 World Cup 2022 later this year. It will be exciting to see who wins the battle this time.
