Former Australian cricket team captain Shane Watson gave his opinion on how he would react if Wahab Riaz would give him a sendoff similar to what Krunal Pandya gave to Kieron Pollard in the match between the Lucknow Super Giants and the Mumbai Indians a few nights ago.
Many members of the cricket universe would know that the second battle between the Lucknow Super Giants and the Mumbai Indians happened a few nights ago at the Wankhede Stadium. Kieron Pollard and Krunal Pandya played together for the Mumbai Indians in the last few seasons, but the latter has now moved to the Lucknow Super Giants.
Both players dismissed each other in the LSG vs MI contest. Pollard dismissed Pandya in the first innings, while Pandya sent Pollard back to the dressing room in the final over of the match. Soon after, Pandya went to Pollard, jumped on him and gave him a kiss.
Speaking on YouTube channel The Grade Cricketer, Watson revealed how he would react if he received a similar send-off from Wahab Riaz after his fiery spell in the quarterfinals of the 2015 Cricket World Cup.
He had emotions that still haven’t changed: Shane Watson
Here’s what Watson had to say while discussing the hypothetical situation:
“There is definitely no way that Wahab Riaz is going to kiss me on my head after that. It was a quarterfinal and that was a big battle. Even at that time, he had emotions that still haven’t changed. If someone did that to me after they got me out, oh jeez, even if it was a good mate, I will be doing well to not lose it.”
Kieron Pollard was visibly angry after his 20-ball 19 against the Lucknow Super Giants. However, he kept his cool and did not react much to the situation.
