Royal Challengers Bangalore wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik has explained the process which helped him regain his touch and perform his best in IPL 2022. Karthik played a match-winning knock for RCB last night against the Rajasthan Royals and won the Man of the Match award for his great performance.
Speaking at the post-match presentation, Karthik revealed the things that he changed in his approach in 2021 and 2022. Last year, the wicket-keeper batter was a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders squad, but he could not impress much. KKR released him from their squad, and he returned to RCB after a long gap in 2022.
Talking about his current mindset while playing cricket, Dinesh Karthik said yesterday after the match:
“I think I made a conscious effort this year to do justice to myself because the last year, I felt I could have done better. The way I trained was much better this time around. Credit to the person who trained with me. I’m making a conscious effort to tell myself that I’m not done yet.”
Dinesh Karthik could play for India in ICC T20 World Cup 2022 if he maintains the same form
Karthik has been a game-changer for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League so far. The right-handed batter has looked in great touch, and many fans feel that he deserves one more chance to play international cricket for the Indian team again.
The veteran player can play the role of a finisher for the Indian team in ICC T20 World Cup 2022 if given a chance. The Indian team needs a player like Karthik, and it will be interesting to see if the selection committee gives him a last chance to prove himself. Karthik will be in action again on April 9 against Mumbai Indians.
