For the first time since 1998, the Pakistan cricket team will host the Australian cricket team on home soil. Previously, they played matches in England and the UAE. But now that drought is finally ending as the Australian cricket team will battle the Pakistan cricket team in all three formats of cricket during the upcoming tour.

Speaking to reporters, coach Andrew McDonald said that the players are confident about the security and they are very excited to play cricket in Pakistan. Here’s what he said:

“They’re jumping on the plane. So that to me says they’re ready to go and they are clear in their mind, that it’s going to be safe and it’s an exciting tour and they’re getting their heads around the cricket as opposed to the other things that potentially can pop into their mind.”

Andrew McDonald feels Shaheen Shah Afridi can trouble Australia during the upcoming series

The coach further discussed how the Pakistan cricket team has some exciting players like Shaheen Shah Afridi who can swing the ball both ways and trouble the Australian batters. It will be interesting to see how the Australian cricket team performs against the Pakistan cricket team.

None of the current Aussie stars have much experience of playing in the Pakistani conditions, which is why the Pakistan team will start as the favorites to win the series. The tour will get underway on March 4 with the ICC World Test Championship series between the two nations. Later, they will also play three ODIs and one T20I match.
