Openers: Shubman Gill and Travis Head (WK)

Shubman Gill and Travis Head will open the batting for this playing XI of cricketers nominated for the ICC Cricketer of the Year 2023 Awards. Middle-Order: Joe Root, Virat Kohli and Daryl Mitchell

Suryakumar Yadav has also been nominated for the T20I Cricketer of the Year Award. However, Joe Root is a better fit in this batting order considering he offers better value in the ODI and Test formats. Of course, Virat Kohli and Daryl Mitchell have no competition for their respective spots and will form the core.

All-Rounders: Ravindra Jadeja, Mark Chapman and Sikandar Raza

Jadeja will be the lead all-rounder for this side. Mark Chapman had a brilliant year in the T20I format. In ODIs, as well, he did well at times. Raza has been doing well for a few years now. This all-rounders group adds depth and balance to the side.

Bowlers: Pat Cummins (C), R Ashwin and Mohammed Shami

It is a brilliant bowling attack for this playing XI of cricketers nominated for the ICC Cricketer of the Year 2023 Awards. Not many cricketers did well than Pat Cummins in 2023. He won all the ICC trophies that were there for the taking. The rest of the bowling attack includes R Ashwin and Mohammed Shami. While Ashwin did well in Tests, Shami was India’s go-to bowler in the ODIs.
