IPL 2024 Auction was not the best one for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. They could have entered the auction with a massive purse of 40 crore, but they decided to trade in Cameron Green for 17.5 crore before the auction. Hence, their purse value came down in the range of 23 crore.

Still, RCB could have assembled a much better squad that they did at the auction. The batting of the team looks solid, but the bowling is not the strongest point of this squad. Here is the probable XI of RCB team for IPL 2024:

Openers of RCB after IPL 2024 Auction – Faf du Plessis (c) and Virat Kohli

The excellent pairing of Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli should continue opening the batting for the Royal Challengers Bangalore side. They are in the 30s, but du Plessis and Kohli still continue to be the fittest cricketers across the world. Fans will have high hopes from the duo.

Middle Order – Rajat Patidar, Cameron Green, Glenn Maxwell, Mahipal Lomror, Suyash Prabhudessai and Dinesh Karthik (wk)

RCB’s number three to five is probably the best in IPL 2024. Rajat Patidar will likely bat at number three, followed by Australian all-rounders Cameron Green and Glenn Maxwell, who will enjoy batting at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The lower middle-order features three Indian names, namely all-rounders Mahipal Lomror and Suyash Prabhudessai along with veteran wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik.

Bowlers – Mayank Dagar, Reece Topley, Karn Sharma and Mohammed Siraj (Impact Player)

Mayank Dagar will form the spin attack of RCB along with veteran leg-spinner Karn Sharma. Dagar impressed a bit while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2023, while Karn also had a great season last year.

Although RCB have invested 11.5 crore in Alzarri Joseph, they should pick Reece Topley in the playing XI because he is a left-arm pacer and a wicket-taking bowler. Ace fast bowler Mohammed Siraj can come in as an Impact Player.
