“Ask MS Dhoni..”- Ravi Ashwin sheds light on his possible return to CSK in the IPL

Ravi Ashwin is a prominent name in the Indian cricket team, and he has been part of the squad for more than a decade. He made it to the Indian team after some good performances in the Indian Premier League, wearing a yellow jersey.

Ashwin made his IPL debut in 2008 for the Chennai Super Kings and played until the 2015 season. He was part of two winning seasons in 2010 and 2011 for CSK. Ashwin played 121 games for Chennai and took 120 wickets at an economy rate of 6.66.

He was one of the main bowlers for CSK in the IPL. However, since then, he has played for the Rising Pune Supergiants, Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, and Rajasthan Royals. However, recently, in an interaction with a fan on Instagram, Ashwin hinted at his comeback for the CSK.

A fan asked him on Instagram when he would be back in the Yellow Army. In reply, the veteran off-spinner replied cheekily and said that only MS Dhoni can answer this question. Ashwin shared an Instagram post with the caption, “Where I came from.” A fan replied, “When do we see you in yellow?” Ashwin replied (translated from Tamil): “Should ask annan (elder brother) Dhoni only.”

Notably, Ashwin belongs to Chennai and has started his career for the state team. He was picked initially as a local player by CSK in 2008, and then he became their main bowler. Ashwin was part of the franchise until they suffered a two-year ban in 2016 and 2017.

However, the Chennai franchise didn’t retain him in 2018. Later, he was signed by the Punjab Kings at the auction. Ashwin is one of the leading wicket-takers in IPL history. He has played 197 matches and taken a total of 171 wickets at an economy rate of 7.01.
