India’s Qualification Scenario

Indian cricket team’s chances of making it to the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2021 very much depends on the result of the match between New Zealand and Afghanistan on the 7th of November.

India and the Indian fans will have to wish that Afghanistan upsets the Kiwis and then the next day, India beats the debutant of the T20 World Cup 2021, Namibia.

India in T20 World Cup 2021 So Far

India had got off in the T20 World Cup 2021 with 2 defeats in the opening 2 matches of the competition, first against Pakistan and then the New Zealand team, because of which, New Zealand has the upper hand over India.

India then came back strong as they battered Afghanistan by 66 runs in their 3rd match with India scoring 210 runs. Recently they romped past the Scottish team with 8 wickets in hand and chasing down the target of 86 runs, in just 6.3 overs.

The Virat Kohli led Indian team now very much needs to depend on the Afghanistan team to beat the New Zealand in their last Super 12 round match. But the work won’t be done still then, as India will need to beat Namibia to stand a chance to make it to the semi-finals.

New Zealand vs Afghanistan takes place in Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Stadium on the 7th of November, while India take on Namibia on the last day of the T20 World Cup 2021 Super 12 round.
