Defending champions Mumbai Indians had formed a perfect squad in IPL 2020. They could not include Chris Lynn, Sherfane Rutherford, and Mitchell McClenaghan in the playing XI even once.

This thing shows how tough it was to find a place in the Mumbai Indians playing XI. It is unlikely Mumbai will make any big purchase this year. They have 1.95 Crores left before the player retention deadline.

Delhi Capitals – 9 Crores

The Delhi Capitals impressed everyone by reaching the finals of IPL 2020. It was the Delhi-based franchise’s first appearance in an IPL final.

Although DC lost the final, Shreyas Iyer’s men did a fantastic job in the tournament. They need a solid back-up wicket-keeping option and will likely invest a majority of their 9 crore purse in it for IPL 2021.

Chennai Super Kings – 15 lakhs

The Chennai Super Kings almost emptied their purse in the previous auction. They are left with only 0.15 Crores heading into the player retention deadline.

Thus, CSK will make some tough calls to increase their purse for the auction. Many fans feel Kedar Jadhav, Piyush Chawla, Karn Sharma, and Murali Vijay could lose their contracts.

Kolkata Knight Riders – 8.5 Crores

Even though Kolkata Knight Riders invested 15.5 Crores in Pat Cummins’ services, they still had 8.5 Crores left in their auction purse. KKR has reportedly decided to release two big Indian players before IPL 2021.

As per reports, KKR will end their association with Dinesh Karthik and Kuldeep Yadav ahead of the next season. If KKR makes this decision, they will gain a lot of money in their purse.

Kings XI Punjab – 16.5 Crores

The Kings XI Punjab began IPL 2020 on a losing note and then lost five of their next six games. However, they came back in style and almost sneaked into the Top 4.

KXIP impressed the fans with their close matches and thrilling wins. They are likely to increase their purse by releasing Glenn Maxwell before IPL Auction.

Royal Challengers Bangalore – 1.95 Crores

Royal Challengers Bangalore finished at the fourth spot in IPL 2020. Overall, it was a much improved performance from the Bangalore-based franchise in the IPL.

RCB has lost Parthiv Patel ahead of the auction. They have less than 2 Crores available and it will be interesting to see which players they release before mini auction.

Sunrisers Hyderabad – 10.1 Crores

The Sunrisers Hyderabad started off slow but attained the third spot in IPL 2020. The Orange Army will look to strength its Indian department in the mini auction.

SRH have 10.1 Crores left in their purse. The Hyderabad-based franchise will be keeping an eye on Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy matches to sign domestic players.

Rajasthan Royals – 14.75 Crores

The Rajasthan Royals finished at the last position on the IPL 2020 Points Table. It was the first time RR took the wooden spoon home in the IPL.

RR is reportedly looking to release Steve Smith before the next auction. This decision will help them increase their purse value beyond 25 Crores before the auction.
