Shahrukh Khan did not have the best IPL season of his career in 2022. The Punjab Kings signed him for a big amount at the mega auction, but the finisher from Tamil Nadu failed to impress the fans with his batting performances.

Shedding some light on his numbers in IPL 2022, Shahrukh played eight matches for the Punjab Kings. He scored 117 runs at an average of 16.71. In eight innings, he failed to touch the 30-run mark and his highest score was 26. His strike rate was below 110 as well.

Since PBKS bought him at a high price, the team management might look to release him ahead of the IPL 2023 Mini Auction. However, his poor IPL season did not impact Shahrukh much. In an interview with Sportstar, Shahrukh clarified that process matters more to him than results. Here’s what he had to say:

“I bank on the process a lot. Results might come, might not come, but the important thing is to think about the process.”

I am in good stead in my head: Shahrukh Khan

Disclosing what he did after leaving the bio-bubble of the Punjab Kings team, Shahrukh Khan said:

“And, right after the IPL I got runs for Vijay CC in the final and in the TNPL also, I am in good stead in my head. So, for me the process matters more than the result.”

Quite a few Indian cricketers have affirmed that they focus more on the process instead of thinking about the results. This thought process helps them achieve more success and not be too disappointed when they fail. The likes of Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant have repeatedly mentioned in their interviews that they focus more on the process.

Shahrukh is following the same approach as well, and it should not be a surprise if he is one of the top performers of IPL 2023.
