Team India has reached the final of the Asia Cup 2023 with consecutive wins. Now they will face Bangladesh in their last game of the Super Four on Friday at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Though India has already qualified for the final and will face Sri Lanka on Sunday, they will look to continue their winning run.

On the other hand, it will be a great chance for India to test their bench strength and try those players who haven’t played a game yet in this competition. Meanwhile, Indian captain Rohit Sharma has a great chance to surpass MS Dhoni.

Notably, India won the 2018 Asia Cup under the captaincy of MS Dhoni, and now it is India’s second final under him. MS Dhoni has won the joint-most matches in the ODI Asia Cup as captain. Dhoni has led in 14 matches and won nine games, while Rohit has already won nine out of nine.

Thus, there is a good chance that if India can win the game against Bangladesh, he can equal Dhoni’s tally. And if India can win the final, then he will become the most successful captain in the ODI Asia Cup.

India was the first team to qualify for the finals. Sri Lanka qualified after beating Pakistan yesterday. Sri Lanka qualified for their 11th Asia Cup final. Notably, this will be the ninth time that India and Sri Lanka will face each other in the final of an Asia Cup.

India has won five finals, while Sri Lanka has won three. If India wins on Sunday, then it will be their 8th Asia Cup title, while for Sri Lanka, it will be their 7th, and they will equal India’s tally. The game will be played on September 17 in Colombo. With two good teams in the final, it is expected to be a nail-biting game.
