Former Indian cricketer and left-arm pace bowler RP Singh took to the Twitter after India’s loss against South Africa in the 2nd ODI to react to India’s dismal start of 2022.

Team India got off to a worst possible start to the year 2022, losing the Test series as well as the ODI series against the South African side.

Indian cricket team were ahead in the Test series heading into the year 2022 having won the first Test, after which, they went on to lose the next 2 matches and conceded the Test series defeat.

They couldn’t perform to its maximum in the ODI series as well, particularly the bowling unit as India have lost the opening 2 matches of the 3 match ODI series.

After a strong end of the year 2021, it is really hard for the fans to digest this result. Reacting on the same, former Indian cricketer and pace bowler RP Singh took to the Twitter to and posted that he would have laughed if someone would have told him that India would lose the Test and ODI series against South Africa at the start of the year.

The Indian team had a great start to the year 2021, beating Australia in their home in an emphatic fashion, and that morale continued throughout except for the disaster in the T20 World Cup 2021.

After which, India also won the Test series against the inaugural World Test Championship winner New Zealand, who defeat India in the final to win the crown.

After which, after a several changes, Team India headed for South Africa, where they even won the first Test in Centurion to end the year on a high. Following which, Virat Kohli’s men conceded two straight defeats to lose the series.

Since Virat Kohli stepped down as India’s ODI captain, and new Rohit Sharma was not available for the ODI series, KL Rahul led the team, but the fortunes didn’t change for the Men in Blue as they lost the opening 2 matches of the 3 match ODI series.

The 3rd and the final match of the series is all about not allowing South Africa to register a clean sweep. The match will be played on the 23rd of January in Cape Town.
