“Best best is yet to come”- Shaheen Afridi send stern warning to Indian Top-order ahead of IND-PAK Super Four clash

Pakistan will be up against India in the high-profile clash of the Super Four stage of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. Both teams played earlier in the group stage, but that game ended without a result. The rain played spoilsport, and the second inning was completely rained out.

But the Indian top order struggled in that game, and it was once again Shaheen Afridi-led pace attack that troubled the Indian batters. Shaheen dismissed Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli and became the first bowler to dismiss both Indian stars by bowled dismissal in one innings.

He will be back on Sunday against the Indian team with his pacy and swinging delivery. In the last few outings between the two teams, Shaheen has troubled the Indian top-order batters quite often, and India will be aware of his threat.

After the match against Bangladesh, Shaheen talked about the IND-PAK game. He said that every IND-PAK game is special, and he used to wait for these matches when he was a kid. About his 4/35 against India in the group stage, Shaheen said, “I can’t say this has been my best spell so far. This is just the start, and there will be many more, so the best is yet to come.”

He also talked about the current Pakistani pace trio and said that every bowler knows their role and just needs to focus on it. Shaheen also talked about how the test series in Sri Lanka helped him bowl long spells.

Notably, Shaheen has never played in India, and the coming World Cup will be the first time that he will play on Indian pitches. He said that they are ready for the challenge in India, and the pitches there are similar to Pakistan and UAE. The game between India and Pakistan is under the scanner due to rain, but there is a reserve day provided by the ACC.
