The big boy tournament, the T20 World Cup 2021 is here and former Australian cricketer and legend Shane Warne is backing India and England to succeed in the global event.

With the T20 World Cup 2021 round 1 coming to an end today on the 22nd October, and the Super 12 round beginning from from tomorrow, fans and cricket experts have already made their predictions as which teams will make it past the next round.

Shane Warne backs India and England

Former Australian leg-spin bowler Shane Warne has joined the fray as the Aussie has backed India and England as the favourites for the T20 World Cup 2021.

Warne on his official Twitter handle stated that India and England are his picks for T20 World Cup 2021 edition. He also mentioned about other teams such as Pakistan, West Indies, New Zealand and his home nation Australia. He stated that Australia has lots of match winners in their squad.

He also came in support of the England captain Eoin Morgan and off-form Australian opening batsman David Warner, who both have been struggling to score runs from the IPL. He further stated that he won’t be surprised if one of both ends up winning the Player of the Tournament award.

T20 World Cup 2021 So Far

India has got off to a flying start as they won both of the warm-up matches that they played against England and Australia. They begin their campaign against Pakistan on the 24th of October, whereas, England will take the field the day before on 23rd October against West Indies.

Talking about Australia, they recorded mixed results in the warm-up matches, first they came out victorious against New Zealand and then suffered a defeat against India. Australia begins their campaign on the 23rd October against South Africa.

While England and Australia are grouped in one group in the Super 12 round, India is placed Group 2 of the Super 12. England and Australia are accompanied by South Africa and West Indies, whereas, India is grouped with Pakistan, New Zealand and Afganistan. 4 more teams will enter the Super 12 round from round 1, with 2 going to Group 1 and the other 2 going to Group 2.
