Former Pakistan cricket team pace bowler, goes by the nickname Rawalpindi Express for his quick bowling, Shoaib Akhtar has raised unhappiness over the selection of the Player of the Tournament in the T20 World Cup 2021.
On the eve of the 14th November, Sunday, Australia lifted the T20 World Cup 2021 by beating the New Zealand cricket team in the Final. Even though Australia have won the 50 over World Cup 5 times, this only the first time that the Aussies have won the T20 World Cup.
And one particular batsman who starred for the Aussies last night was David Warner. The left-hand opening batsman for Australia scored 53 runs and controlled the inning, making sure New Zealand has no opportunity to take control of the match.
Warner was named Player of the Tournament for his spectacular performance in the event, scoring 289 runs at an average of 48.17.

However, former Pakistan pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar has expressed unhappiness over the selection of the Player of the Tournament. He believes that it should have been Babar Azam instead of Warner who deserve the Player of the Tournament award.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Shoaib Akhtar wrote that he was looking for Babar Azam to be named Player of the Tournament, for was instead given Warner and it is an unfair decision.

Talking of Babar Azam, the Pakistan skipper led Pakistan to the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2021, also breaking the jinx of Pakistan not being able to beat India in any World Cup event.
Babar Azam finished the T20 World Cup 2021 as the highest run scorer with 303 runs in 6 matches at an average of 60.6. He scored 4 fifty plus runs with the highest being 70 runs.
