Apart from this, Rohit Sharma also went past AB de Villiers and hit the second-most sixes in World Cup history. Rohit smashed four sixes in his inning and has hit a total of 40 sixes in 22 innings, and De Villiers had 37 sixes in 23 innings. Chris Gayle is at the top with 49 sixes off 35 balls.

The way Rohit is going, it looks like he will catch him soon. Speaking of the game, Daryl Mitchell scored a brilliant hundred and made 130 runs in the first inning. It was the first time since the 1975 World Cup that a Kiwi batter had hit a hundred against India. For India, Mohammed Shami, who played the first game of the tournament, picks up 5/54. It was his second World Cup fifer and he became the first Indian to do so.
