Now, Nitish Rana has made a huge statement about it. Usually, players do not talk about appointments related to the support staff. However, Rana had no reservations as he gave a direct hint.

KKR might need a strong management
In recent years, Kolkata Knight Riders have struggled with some off-the-field decisions. While the auctions in recent seasons have not been great, some of the selection calls have also been surprising.
Chandrakant Pandit was appointed as the Head Coach of the franchise before IPL 2023. It was a positive move considering Pandit’s success at the domestic level. However, the team was not able to qualify for the playoffs. Nevertheless, he managed to improve the form of some Indian cricketers such as Rinku Singh, Nitish Rana and Venkatesh Iyer. A character like Gautam Gambhir would be a great hit at KKR. The franchise needs a direction and a strong roadmap from the top. This would be possible if someone like Gambhir comes back as a Director of Cricket or as a Head Coach.

However, it looked like the Lucknow franchise had something else in mind. As soon as the news of Gautam Gambhir going back to Kolkata Knight Riders spread over social media, the LSG franchise also shared a picture from India’s famous TV comedy show “Tarak Mehta ka Oolta Chasma.” This has cleared up all the rumors. Notably, LSG confirmed earlier that Gambhir is not going anywhere and promoted him as a “global mentor.”
