Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar gave a hilarious advice to the batters when asked how to tackle the express pace of Umran Malik. The Sunrisers Hyderabad star has stolen the show in IPL 2022 with his fast-bowling. Under Dale Steyn’s guidance, Malik’s line and length has improved as well.

In the match against the Gujarat Titans, Sunrisers Hyderabad took five wickets, with all of them going into Malik’s account. Malik initially went for big runs, but now his performances have improved. No other bowler in the league can match the way Malik bowls at 150+ kmph consistently.

In a chat with Star Sports, Gavaskar hilariously joked that the batters should take a single and go to the non-striker’s end when Umran comes on to bowl for the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Don’t give him a sight of your stumps: Sunil Gavaskar wants batters to cover all 3 stumps against Umran Malik

Further commenting how the batters should bat against Sunrisers Hyderabad star Umran Malik, Sunil added:

“Don’t give him a sight of your stumps. Cover all three stumps so that when he runs in to bowl, he has got to see where is the off stump, where is the leg stump.”

It will be interesting to see how the batters tackle Umran Malik in the upcoming matches. Fans should note that Malik had an off day in the office against the Chennai Super Kings yesterday night. Playing at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, Malik went for big runs and returned wicketless.

IPL 2021 Orange Cap winner Ruturaj Gaikwad returned to form and played a fine knock of 99 runs to help the Chennai Super Kings post a 202-run total on the board. Gaikwad tackled Malik’s pace to perfection and hit some fine shots off his bowling.
