Suresh Raina and IPL cannot stay away from each other for long. After going unsold in an IPL Auction for the first time ever, Raina is all set to return to the world’s grandest T20 league as a commentator. The former Chennai Super Kings star will work as a commentator. He is likely to be a part of the Hindi commentary team alongside the likes of Aakash Chopra, Jatin Sapru, Irfan Pathan and others. Returning to the commentary box after a long break is former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri. Ravi, who worked as the head coach of Indian cricket team for a long time, will return to the commentary box for the first time since 2017.

The return of Ravi Shastri is a massive boost for the commentary team because many fans regard him as one of the best commentators in the world of cricket.

Suresh Raina can still play in IPL 2022 if any team signs as a replacement

While Suresh Raina has joined the commentary panel of Star Sports, it is not that he cannot play in IPL 2022. He can return to action if any of the franchises sign him as a replacement.

In case you didn’t know, Raina registered himself for the mega auction at a base price of INR 2 crore. However, none of the teams bid for him. Fans expected Gujarat Titans to sign him as a replacement for Jason Roy, but the same did not happen.
