Suryakumar Yadav performed well in the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League series against West Indies recently, but it seems that performance did not help him improve his position on the ICC ODI Rankings for Batters.

In the latest batting charts released by the ICC, Suryakumar Yadav has dropped below Afghanistan cricket team’s leg-spin bowling all-rounder Rashid Khan. Yadav has dropped five positions and slipped from 78th to 83rd position.

The names of the five batters who have overtaken Yadav on the ICC ODI Rankings for Batters are Mithun Ali, Andile Phehlukwayo, Rashid Khan, Matthew Wade and Ravindra Jadeja. Interestingly, Jadeja has not played any ODI matches in the recent past.

It is quite surprising to see Suryakumar in the 83rd position because in the recently-concluded ICC Cricket World Cup Super League series against the West Indies cricket team, he was the highest run-scorer for the Men in Blue.

Yadav played three innings in the series and scored 104 runs in those three matches at a strike rate of 82.53. His highest score was 64, while his batting average was 52.

Suryakumar Yadav has been ruled out of the T20I series against Sri Lanka

It seems Suryakumar Yadav may slip on the ICC T20I Rankings for Batters as well because he has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series against the Sri Lankan cricket team because of an injury. Yadav was in fantastic touch against the West Indies cricket team, and the Indian side will miss him in the middle-order.

Speaking of the T20I series between the Indian cricket team and the Sri Lankan cricket team, the series will start tomorrow with a T20I match in Lucknow. The Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium will host the game, and after that, the second and the third T20I matches will happen at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.
