IPL 2021 Auction came to a conclusion with overseas pacers dominating the day. The likes of Chris Morris, Jhye Richardson and Kyle Jamieson all earned contracts worth in excess of INR 10 crores. Few Indian players such as K Gowtham and Shahrukh Khan also had a good day. However, there were a few players who failed to extract a bid from any franchise. In this article, we talk about the best possible unsold cricketers XI from the IPL 2021 Auction. Please note that we will stick to the IPL rule of having four foreigners and seven Indians in the playing eleven.

Openers: Aaron Finch (C) and Jason Roy

Despite being one of the premier openers in limited-overs cricket, Aaron Finch could not find a franchise for the upcoming season. He had an underwhelming IPL 2020, and that could have played a part behind teams choosing to neglect him. Jason Roy missed last season due to an injury and also personal commitments. Although he was expected to play next season, with no teams showing interest, he will miss IPL 2021.

Middle-Order: Marnus Labuschagne, Hanuma Vihari, and Kedar Devdhar (WK)

Marnus Labuschagne has been in good form in recent months. Not only with the bat, but Marnus is also making an impression with the ball. However, no team made an attempt to sign him. So was the case with Hanuma Vihari, who will now miss his second consecutive IPL season. He deserved a contract and hence, can be regarded as unlucky. While wicket-keepers like Vishnu Vinod and Mohammed Azharuddeen found franchises, Kedar Devdhar couldn’t manage to impress any team. He will keep wickets for this XI.

All-Rounders: Baba Aparajith

His name did not even come up in the auction despite being on the auction list of 292 players. He is one of the better all-rounders in the domestic circuit and it was surprising that no team was interested in him. For Baba, he must keep doing the good work and target a spot in the Indian Team through other competitions.

Bowlers: Sandeep Lamichhane, Tushar Deshpande, Ankit Rajpoot, Rahul Sharma and G Periyasamy

Sandeep was a good choice for many teams. However, the Nepali youngster could not earn a contract. He is one of the best overseas spinners to miss out on IPL 2021. In the pace department, we have Tushar Deshpande, Ankit Rajpoot and G Periyasamy, all of whom who have had a consistent run in the domestic circuit. While Tushar and Ankit have played IPL cricket, Periyasamy must wait longer for his debut.
