Mahipal Lomror was one of the new player signed by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. The all-rounder had been with the Rajasthan Royals squad for many seasons. At the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, RCB signed him and gave him a chance to play in seven matches during the season.
In a recent interview with Sportskeeda Cricket, Mahipal opened up on his experience of playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2022. Lomror said that he picked up a side strain while playing in the Ranji Trophy. The injury forced him to miss the initial matches of IPL 2022 because the team management did not want him to aggravate his injury.
Lomror played seven games for the Bold Army, scoring 86 runs. His average was less than 20, but his batting strike rate was more than 150. He did not bowl much this season, but the all-rounder went for 18 runs in the two overs that he bowled.

As mentioned ahead, Mahipal Lomror represented the Rajasthan Royals in the past. He had never shared the dressing room with the likes of Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis.
When asked about how he felt while playing under the leadership of du Plessis, Lomror replied:
“He was also clear in the principle that whoever gets a chance will get a 100 percent chance, not just one or two matches. He always sees everyone as equal. The way he talks to Virat Kohli is exactly how he talks to a junior or a first-timer. I found him a very genuine and nice person.”
It will be interesting to see if the Royal Challengers Bangalore retain Lomror for the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League.
