Former Kolkata Knight Riders star Piyush Chawla has opined that Australian opener David Warner may have some personal grudges while playing against the Sunrisers Hyderabad tonight in IPL 2022. For the first time since 2014, fans will witness Warner playing against the Orange Army in an IPL match.

The left-handed opener will don the Delhi Capitals jersey against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Looking at Warner’s performance for SRH from 2014 to 2020, it seemed like the Aussie would end his IPL career while playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad team only. However, the same did not happen.

Warner’s performance went downhill in IPL 2021. As a result, the team management dropped him from the playing XI and handed over the captaincy to Kane Williamson. Warner could not impress much in the two chances he got during the UAE leg of IPL 2021. After that, he mostly remained at the team’s hotel or cheered for them from the stands.

Unsurprisingly, the Sunrisers Hyderabad released David ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. The Delhi Capitals signed him at the mega auction, and he has been a match-winner for the Delhi-based franchise this year.

“It will be exciting because the way things panned out the last time, he might carry some grudges while coming out to bat.”

Like Piyush Chawla, many fans are excited to see how David Warner plays against SRH tonight. Chawla also felt that DC must stick with their Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman and give him more chances.

“Look, I feel Mustafizur has bowled well, and there’s no need for lots of changes. It’s not easy to come back from injury and perform, but Mustafizur is bowling well,” he added.
