Who will be the next captain of the Indian Test cricket team is a big debate topic these days. Some fans feel Rohit Sharma should become the new skipper because prior to the tour of South Africa, Sharma became the new vice-captain. So, in that way, their logic is correct. A few others opine that KL Rahul should become the captain because Sharma is not so young and has fitness issues. Some have even named Rishabh Pant as a candidate.

Steve Smith recently organized a Q and A session with his fans on Instagram, where a fan asked him who should become the next captain of the Indian Test cricket team. Here’s what Smith replied:

“Firstly, congratulations to Virat who’s led the Indian team superbly well for the last six or seven years. He has done a terrific job and looking forward I’d say probably Rohit (Sharma)  or KL (Rahul) are the two favorites.”
