New Zealand cricket team’s veteran pace bowler Tim Southee has stated that sharing the cricket field with legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and Virender Sehwag is one of the most fond memories for him.

Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid along with VVS Laxman and Virender Sehwag is India’s one of many top talents to have ever graced the cricket pitch, and Blackcaps pace bowler Tim Southee feels good to have shared field with them.

During a virtual press conference, Tim Southee stated that playing against India is a special occasion as they are the powerhouse of the game. He also added that he can say on behalf anyone that playing India whether in New Zealand or India is a special occasion.

He further added that sharing the field with his idols, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag is one of his fond memories from his early days of his career.

“Going back to my early years, sharing the field with the likes of Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman and Sehwag as a young guy is one of my fond memories. Although I didn’t manage a lot in terms of result, just to be out there and share the field with some of my childhood heroes was pretty special,” added the New Zealand pacer.

Southee spoke to the media virtually during the event where Amazon Prime Video announced the its multi-year deal to broadcast the New Zealand cricket team’s matches in India starting from the new year.

As of result of which, all of the New Zealand cricket team’s matches (mens and womens) will be live broadcasted in India through the streaming platform, thus, becoming the first steaming service to secure live cricket rights.

Tim Southee Stats

Tim Southee is one of the most crucial members of the New Zealand cricket team. Whangarei born right-arm pacer made his New Zealand debut during T20I series against England in 2008 and made his Test debut as well as part of the series.

Southee has so far played 81 Test matches and has picked up 322 wickets. He has 190 and 111 wickets from 143 ODIs and 92 T20Is respectively.
