Many cricket fans were surprised to see the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) introduce a special Reserve Day only for the India vs Pakistan match in the Super Fours round of the tournament. The Super Fours game between India and Pakistan will take place on September 10 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Heavy rain is predicted for the match, which is why there is a big possibility of the game being washed away due to rain. The group stage match between India and Pakistan did not produce a result as well. It might have resulted in losses for the broadcasters. As a result, it looks like the ACC has introduced a Reserve Day this time.
If the battle between the Men in Blue and Men in Green does not finish on September 10, the match will resume on September 11. It will be similar to how the semifinal match of the 2019 World Cup between India and New Zealand took place on two days.
Interestingly, the only other match of Asia Cup 2023 is the final. There are no other Super Fours matches with a reserve day, meaning if the match is abandoned, then the two teams will have to share points.
